Mentors Needed for Diamond in the Rough

“Mentoring brings us together – across generation, class, and often race – in a manner that forces us to acknowledge our interdependence, to appreciate, in Martin Luther King, Jr.’s words, that ‘we are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied to a single garment of destiny.’ In this way, mentoring enables us to participate in the essential but unfinished drama of reinventing community, while reaffirming that there is an important role for each of us in it.”- Marc Freedman

We are proud to kick off our 2012 Diamond in the Rough Mentoring Campaign. It is our goal to provide young women 18-21 with the opportunity to set and attain small goals with the objective of establishing a pattern of success, and increasing self esteem and confidence.
We need YOU to be a MENTOR!

Diamond in the Rough Mentoring Campaign will:

  • Connect young women with the resources and support needed to ease the transition between adolescents and adulthood.
  • Establish a pattern of success through empowering young women with the appropriate tactics to successfully set and attain goals.
  • Cultivate a strong core of service leaders that will impact real social challenges, by providing volunteerism and community service opportunities.

There is a very small time committment, between 1-2 hours per month for a 12 month period, yet the impact of that time spent will be priceless. To sign up today, click on the link below and print the application. You can either mail the attachment or scan and email to the addresses below.
